Marjorie Graham Horelly, 72
GREAT BARRINGTON — Marjorie C. Graham Horelly, 72, of 12 Ramsey Ave. died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at home. She had battled cancer for 14 years.
Born in Great Barrington on April 11, 1931, daughter of Jerome and Pauline Castagnetti Couse, she was a 1949 graduate of the former Searles High School.
Mrs. Horelly was employed by Pittsfield Cooperative Bank from 1971 until her retirement in 1992 as assistant vice president of the Great Barrington office. She had also worked for the Richard O'Brien Real Estate Agency, and in the town clerk's office for Great Barrington. She also lived in Boston for a brief time and worked for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology admissions office.
For more than 30 years, she and her former husband, the late Donald P. Graham, owned Graham's Restaurant in Great Barrington.
She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church. She was also an elected trustee of the Mason Library and a member of the Daughters of Isabella.
An accomplished singer and pianist, she enjoyed collecting precious things such as seashells and antique cut glass, walking, shopping, baseball and dachshunds. She lived for, and through, the accomplishments of her children and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Her former husband died in 2001.
She and her husband, Nathan "Spic" Horelly, were married April 25, 1991, in Fort Myers, Fla.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Beth I. Graham of Salem and Holly G. Martin of Ellicot City, Md., and three grandchildren, William Joseph, Ashleigh Paula and Julia Elizabeth Martin, all of Ellicot City.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Marjorie C. Horelly will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, at 9 from BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Peter's Church by the Rev. Daniel Papineau, MIC, pastor. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Cemetery, Housatonic.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Friday, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, Marjorie and her family have requested that friends make memorial donations to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230
