Dorothy Rudisill

Dorothy Kay Rudisill, 60, of 170 Old Stockbridge Road, and Houston, died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center after a 30-year battle with multiple sclerosis. Born on San Banard, Texas, on Dec. 18, 1940, daughter of Paul Lester and Dorothy Guthrey Berry Rudisill, she graduated from Lamar High School and received a bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin University and a master's degree with honors from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She was a licensed speech pathologist and worked in Wichita Falls, Midland, Houston, San Antonio and Austin, Texas. She retired in 1997 because of her illness and moved to Lenox to live with her brother. She enjoyed Broadway shows, Carnegie Hall, Tanglewood and South Mountain concerts. In her younger years, she was an accomplished equestrian. Miss Rudisill was a member of St. James' Episcopal Church in Great Barrington. She leaves her brother, H. Clifford Rudisill of Lenox. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 19, at 11 at St. James Episcopal Church, Great Barrington, with the Rev. Ray Wilson, rector, and the Rev. Jeffrey H. Walker, rector of Christ Church, Greenwich, Conn., officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 18, from 4 to 7 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME. Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Handicap Accessible Fund at St. James' Church, or the Humane Society for Animals.
