Eugene J. Boucher

Eugene J. Boucher, 85, of 68 Mohawk Forest Blvd. died Wednesday evening at home. Born in North Adams on Sept. 29, 1919, son of Laurent and Rose Galipeau Boucher, he attended schools there, including the former Notre Dame. An Army Air Forces veteran of World War II, he served as a private. He completed technical training programs for airplane mechanics in Texas and at New England Aircraft School in Boston. Mr. Boucher was employed by General Cable Co. in Williamstown for more than 25 years. He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of Frank R. Stiles Post 152 American Legion and the North Adams Retired Men's Club. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf. He and his wife, the former Jeannette Lefave, were married Oct. 9, 1943, in Notre Dame. Besides his wife, he leaves four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His son, Richard Roland Boucher, died July 28, 2002. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Eugene J. Boucher will be Tuesday at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME for FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial with full military honors will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home. Survivors include four grandchildren, Paul James "P.J." Renaud, Tamara "Tammy" Boucher, Nannette Maturski and Michelle Kupiec. He was predeceased by six brothers, Emile, Albert, August, Philip, Leonard and Edward Boucher, and by three sisters, Anna Sweeney, Anita Perras and Irene Millette.
