Mary C. Casivant

Mary C. Casivant, 71, of 295 First St. died Thursday morning at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Great Barrington on June 19, 1934, daughter of Ernest and Lillian Stannard Benway, she was educated there. She had lived in Pittsfield for 20 years. Mrs. Casivant was a homemaker. She was an avid reader. She leaves four daughters, Julie Burghardt of Bristol, N.H., and Susan Bateman, Jeanne Casivant and Leigh Casivant, all of Pittsfield; two sisters, Sheila Piccioni of Maryland and Ellen Orren of Springfield, 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by another daughter, Michelle Clark, in 1998. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours for Mary C. Casivant will be Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at noon in the DEWHIRST FUNERAL HOME, 1061 Union Ave., Laconia, N.H. 03246, followed by a graveside service at 2 in Homeland Cemetery, Bristol, N.H. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help the family defray the cost. She leaves her grandchildren, Anthony, Justin, Gabriel, George, Megean, Memphis, Heather, Melissa, Mary and Tiffany, great-grandchildren, Taylor, Bridget, Noah and Cheyenne, and sons-in-law, Andy Adams of Bristol and Charlie Bateman.
