Robert Charles Plourde

Robert Charles Plourde, 69, died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Amesbury on May 18, 1936, son of Charles Plourde of Pittsfield and the late Cora Nolan Plourde, he was educated in Pittsfield and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. He also attended Bryant College in Rhode Island. He had served in the National Guard. Mr. Plourde was employed by GE as a maintenance man for more than 25 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed hiking, metal working and playing Scrabble and checkers. He and his wife, the former Anna Mae Poincelot, were married July 31, 1971. Besides his father and his wife, he leaves two daughters, Jenna Plourde-Beckwith and Christine A. Plourde, both of Pittsfield, and a brother, Norman Plourde of Westford. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Robert C. Plourde, who died July 2, 2005, will be private. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The family requests the omission of flowers and that memorials be made to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, which is handling arrangements.
