Mary Treadwell

Mary Treadwell 98, of 15 Blue Hill Road, Great Barrington, died Saturday July 2, 2005 at Great Barrington Rehab and Nursing Center where she had lived for the past 3 weeks. She was born in Great Barrington on August 14, 1906, daughter of Thomas F. and Delia Lally Larkin. She attended local schools and was a graduate of the former Searles High School class of 1924. She graduated in 1926 from Our Lady of the Elms College, in Chicopee. She taught school for a short while in Monterey and Housatonic. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1938 and worked at the Houston Medical Center until 1948 when she moved back to Great Barrington. From 1951 she worked as an office manager for Fairview Hospital retiring in 1969 after 18 years. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church. She was the widow of Arthur B. Treadwell whom she married on August 7, 1928, he died May 9, 1977. She leaves one son Thomas, of Phoenixville, PA, one sister Eileen Kinner of Old Greenwich, CT, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, Funeral Services for Mary Treadwell, who died Saturday July 2, 2005 will be Wednesday July 6, 2005 at 1:00 PM at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Michael Callea, M.I.C., officiating. Burial will follow in St.Peter's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers family requests that expressions of sympathy in Mary's memory may be made to the Mason Library Renovation Fund in care of the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South Street Great Barrington, MA 01230
