Rachel Gillette

Rachel Gillette, 96, of 4 Columbia St., died Monday morning at Williamstown Care Centers, where she had resided since April. Born in Adams on May 11, 1909, daughter of Oscar and Mary Bissaillon Burns, she attended schools there. She also attended the former Berkshire Business College in Pittsfield. Mrs. Gillette was last employed as a cashier at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. She first worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. until it ceased operations. She then worked at the former Sprague Electric Co., and the former Lurie's Clothing Store, both in North Adams. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame/St. Thomas Church. A member of the Columbia Housing Association, she organized the sing-a-long and exercise club in 1990. She leaves a son, Ronald LeBeau of Adams, a grandson and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Rachel Gillette will take place Friday, July 15, 2005 at 9 from the TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in Notre Dame Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel O'Hear, pastor of St. Anthony's Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Adams Ambulance Fund through the funeral home. She leaves her grandson, Scott LeBeau, and two great-grandchildren, Erika LeBeau and Gregory LeBeau. She was predeceased by three brothers, Edward Burns, Willard Burns and Leo Burns.
