Shirley Ann Pierce

Shirley Ann Pierce, 68, of 93 Cleveland Ave. died Wednesday at Williamstown Commons in Williamstown. Born in North Adams on April 2, 1937, daughter of the late Richard and Grace Blay Miller, she attended local schools. Mrs. Pierce was employed as a private-duty nurse. Before that, she worked at the former Adams Nursing Home, now Williamstown Commons. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and attended Bethel Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed playing bingo. She and her husband, Carl H. Pierce, were married Dec. 31, 1979, in Williamstown. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Jeanette M. Soto of North Adams; a son, Michael Lafayette of Concord, N.H.; two sisters, Lorraine Demo of North Adams and June Pengrin of Springfield; three brothers, Craig Miller of Wells, Maine, Norman Miller of North Adams and Bernard Miller of Adams, and a granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Shirley Pierce will be tomorrow, July 17, 2005, at 5 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will be at a later date in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 3 to 5. Donations to VNA & Hospice of North Berkshire in care of the funeral home. Survivors include a son-in-law, Gerardo Soto; a sister-in-law, Carol Miller, and a granddaughter, Mackenzie Soto, with whom she enjoyed spending time. She was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Mroz.
