Verna S. Williams

Verna S. Williams, 93, of East Otis died Sunday at Laurel Lake Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Lee. Born in Valley Cottage, N.Y., on Nov. 16, 1911, daughter of Clarence and Annie Hicks Stone, she was a 1929 graduate of Haverstraw High School and attended Zion Bible Institute in Providence, R.I. Mrs. Williams and her husband, Lester E. Williams, founded Williams Stone Co. Inc. in 1947. They were married 50 years before his death May 6, 1989. She leaves two sons, Allen L. Williams of Blandford and Edwin C. Williams of East Otis; a daughter, Joyce E. Rozkuszka of Jacumba, Calif; three sisters, Dorothy Pinkerton of Denver, Wilma Olson of Carlisle, Pa., and Margaret Lundy of Neavit, Md.; five grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Verna S. Wiliams will be Thursday at 11 at FIRTION-ADAMS FUNERAL SERVICE, 76 Broad St., Westfield, with burial to follow in Russell Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 7. The family requests that donations in Verna's memory be made to the Latin American Child Care Fund, 1445 North Boonville Ave., Springfield, MO 65802-1894.
