Brock Elton Wilkerson

Brock Elton Wilkerson, 47, of Maple Street died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center after a battle with lung cancer. He had resided in Lenox for 12 years prior to moving to Stockbridge in 2004. Born in Kansas City, Mo., on April 25, 1958, son of Lloyd and Betty Brockway Wilkerson of Raymore, Mo., he was 1976 graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School and a 1980 graduate of Kansas University, where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He later earned a master's degree in business from Avila College in Kansas City. Mr. Wilkerson was an account executive for Severn Trent Laboratories in Westfield at the time of his death. Previously, he was an international purchasing agent for GE Plastics in Pittsfield. He was also a soccer coach for the Lenox Girls' House League and their travel team. He was a member of St. Paul's Church in Stockbridge. He was a member and past president of the Lenox Club, a former member of the board of managers of the Lenox Library and vice president from 1999-2001. He was twice chairman of the American Heart Association Heart Walk and was a member of the Berkshire Division Board. He was also a member of the Country Club of Pittsfield. An avid runner, he competed in 14 marathons, the most recent being the Boston Marathon this past April. He and his wife, the former Cathy Law, were married Feb. 21, 2004, at St. Paul's Church. Besides his parents and his wife, he leaves two daughters, Elizabeth Wilkerson and Caroline J. Wilkerson, both of Lenox, and a brother, Brian C. Wilkerson of Lawrence, Kan. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service celebrating the life of Brock Elton Wilkerson of Stockbridge will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Church with the Rev. John Tarrant, rector, officiating. A reception will follow from 3 to 5 at The Lenox Club. Brock is also survived by his nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to the Lance Armstrong Foundation in care of the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240, which is in charge of arrangements.
