Susan B. Levin

Susan B. Levin, 82, of Silver Street died Aug. 21 at home. Born in Chicago on Dec. 7, 1922, daughter of Louis and Rose Grabois Belzer, she attended Wright Junior College there. Mrs. Levin was a homemaker. She moved from New York to Sheffield 30 years ago. She was a member of several environmental and conservation groups and organizations, both on national and local levels, and active in the League of Women Voters. While in New York, she taught English as a second language. She enjoyed modern and tap dancing, yoga, playing Scrabble, doing crossword puzzles, reading, cooking and sewing. She was a bird-watcher and wildflower enthusiast. Her husband, Morton L. Levin, whom she married Oct. 3, 1943, died in 2003. She leaves a son, Peter Levin of Watertown, and two sisters, Jean Cohen of Mission Hills, Calif., and Lydia Bishop of West Hills, Calif. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Those who desire may make contributions in Mrs. Susan Belzer Levin's name to either the American Cancer Society or Berkshire Humane Society through FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She showed devoted interest in her family and dogs.
