John Joseph Biros

John Joseph Biros, 87, of 9 Richmond Lane died Friday evening at home. Born in Warren, R.I., on April 11, 1918, son of Peter and Albina Ciszek Biros, and stepmother Mary Biros, who raised him after his mother's death when he was three years old, he attended schools there. He was a member of Company M of the Massachusetts National Guard in Adams for several years. Mr. Biros was employed by the former Arnold Print Works in the color department, retiring in 1980. Prior to that, he had worked for the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church. He and his wife, the former Monica M. Nowak, would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on Sept. 12. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Thomas Biros of Pittsfield; five brothers, Theodore Biros, Edward Biros, Edwin Biros, Joseph Biros and Richard Biros, all of Adams; two sisters, Gladys Czubryt and Cecelia Michalenko, both of Adams, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Biros Fortin. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for John J. Biros will be Monday, Aug. 29, at 11 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Churches of Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Calling hours will be Monday from 9:30 to 11 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, or St. Stanislaus Kostka School through the funeral home. He was predeceased by three brothers, Stanley, Frank and Albin Biros, and two sisters, Jane Armata and Alice Cichy.
