Gerald E. St. Jean

Gerald E. St. Jean, 64, of 46 Mallard Cove died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He had resided in Cheshire for 5 1/2 years. Before that, he lived in Savoy, Adams and the town of Washington. Born in Springfield on Jan. 8, 1941, son of Emile and Edith Cabrini St. Jean, he was a 1961 graduate of West Springfield High School. He served in the Coast Guard during the 1960s. Mr. St. Jean was manager of the Vermont Color Lab in Pittsfield for five years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Sons of Italy Itam Lodge 564 and the Cheshire Rod and Gun Club. He leaves a son, Joseph M. St. Jean of South Barre, Vt.; two daughters, Kelly A. Fournier and Paula A. Griffin, both of Pittsfield, and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Gerald E. St. Jean died in Pittsfield on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005. Beloved grandfather to Hannah Rae St. Jean, Lillian Noel St. Jean, Gregory R. Fournier and Shannon E. Griffin. He also leaves his longtime companion, Charlene A. Wood. The funeral will be Thursday, Sept. 8, at 11 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, with the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church, officiating. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or to the Cheshire EMT in care of the funeral home.
