Robert F. Gerhardt

Robert F. Gerhardt, 93, of 38 East Demming St., formerly of Lanesborough, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Albany, N.Y., on Aug. 22, 1912, son of Louis and Minni Enos Gerhardt, he moved to Pittsfield at a young age with his family and attended local schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II. A self-employed carpenter for 50 years, Mr. Gerhardt retired in 1978. He was a communicant of St. Charles' Church. He and his wife, the former Rita M. Collins, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary on May 29. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Robert J. Gerhardt of Washington, five grandchildren and eight grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Robert F. Gerhardt, 93, died in Pittsfield on Sept. 6, 2005. Beloved father-in-law to Mary D. Gerhardt and brother-in-law to Teresa Zavatter and Ethel King. Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 9, at 11 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church. Calling hours will be Friday from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
