William J. Kennedy

William J. Kennedy, 53, of 112 Melbourne Road died Sunday at home. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 18, 1951, son of John and Lillian Dwyer Kennedy, he attended local schools, including Pittsfield High School. Mr. Kennedy owned and operated Professional Roofing and Siding for 30 years. He was an active member of Hope Church in Lenox. He enjoyed playing golf, and coached minor league baseball. He and his wife, the former Eris Pfannkuche, were married Aug. 26, 1988, in Albany, N.Y. Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, William M. Kennedy of Pittsfield and Joseph Kennedy, Seth Kennedy and Jordan "Cubby" Kennedy, all at home; two daughters, Katie Bennice of Ballston Spa, N.Y., and Grace Kennedy of Pittsfield; three stepsons, Benjamin Boehm and Jonathan Boehm, both of Pittsfield, and Robert Gallagher of Pittsfield; a stepdaughter, Tricia Goodrich of Crestview, Fla.; a brother, John Kennedy of New Lebanon, N.Y.; three sisters, Kathleen Malumphy of Richmond, Linda Kennedy of Lenox and Mary Lou DeShais of Connecticut, and 10 grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- William J. Kennedy, 53, died in Pittsfield on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005. Beloved grandfather to Nicholas, Corey, Aaron, Paige, Anthony, Clayton, Lucas, Isabella, Kayla and Keyana, and father-in-law to Jaclyn Boehm and Paul Bennice. Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 10, at 10:30 at Hope Church in Lenox, conducted by the Rev. Doug Foss. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Nehemiah, care of Hope Church, 250 Kemble St., Lenox. The family will receive friends immediately following the service for a meal and refreshments. DWYER FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
