Sally Young

Sally Young, 64, of 139 North Egremont Road died yesterday of lung cancer. She died at the home of her son, Stephen Sagarin of 113 Egremont Plain Road. Born in Nyack, N.Y., on April 22, 1941, daughter of Donald and Ann Kibitz Russell, she was a 1959 graduate of Edgemont High School in Edgemont, N.Y. She also attended Barnard College. An accomplished pianist, Mrs. Young was a piano instructor. She resided in Columbia County from 1969 to 2000, then moved to Berkshire County. Besides her son, Stephen, she leaves two other sons, Matthew Sagarin of Great Barrington and Christopher Young of Madison, N.H.; a brother, George Russell of New York, and five grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Sally Young, who died Sept. 6, 2005, will be Friday, Sept. 9, at 3:30 St. James Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ernest Helmke officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Redrock Rural Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 4 to 7 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME. She also leaves her daughters-in-law, Janis Martinson of Egremont and Ann Sagarin of Great Barrington, and sister-in-law, Leonore Russell.
