Polly Shove

Polly Shove, 89, of 42 Elm St., Windsor Locks, Conn., died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Conn. Born in Sheffield on Aug. 8, 1916, daughter of Virgil and Grace Beebe Miller, she attended local schools. A hairdresser for 30 years, Mrs. Shove owned the former Glamour Hut in Great Barrington for 10 years, retiring in 1983. She moved to Miami in 1983, to Venice, Fla., in 1993 and to Windsor Locks in 2003. She and her husband, Lawrence A. Shove, were married on Aug. 30, 1957. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Duke Donsbough of Great Barrington; a stepson, Charles Shove of Miami, and a daughter, Polly Ann Storm of Windsor Locks. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Polly Miller Shove, who died Sept. 6, 2005, will be at the convenience of the family in Sheffield Center Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Polly's memory may be made to Windsor Locks Lions' Ambulance Fund, in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, which is in charge of arrangements.
