Arvid H. Anderson Jr., 79, of East Otis, formerly of Bristol, Conn., died Wednesday at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington, Conn. Born in Bristol on June 13, 1926, son of Arvid H. Anderson Sr. and Eva Stephenson Anderson, he was educated there. He moved to East Otis in 1972. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Anderson was a retired steamfitter with Local 777. He was a lifetime member of Bristol Elks Lodge 1010, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and Otis Kiwanis Club. He was married to the former Virginia Moquin. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Gene Anderson of Southington, Conn., a daughter, Donna Barry of Madison, N.J.; a sister, Ethel Eaton of Spring Hill, Fla.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Relatives and friends of Arvid H. Anderson of East Otis may call at FUNK FUNERAL HOME, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Monday, Sept. 26, 2005, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:30. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
