Lillian R. Bragdon

Lillian R. Bragdon, 79, of 1675 Home Road died Monday at Great Barrington Nursing Home and Rehab Center. Born in Ansonia, Conn., on August 7, 1926, daughter of Herbert and Irene Quillette Tyler, she was a graduate of Ansonia High School. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Church. Mrs. Bragdon was a seamstress at Housatonic Curtain Company, retiring in 1993. Previously she worked at the former Adams Supermarket for 15 years, until it closed. She also worked at the former J. J. Luncheonette and the former Barrington Food Center. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, ceramics and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She leaves a son, Charles J. Bragdon, Jr.; three daughters, Donna Mooney of Great Barrington, Sharon Nourse of Sheffield, and Linda Snyder of New Marlborough; two sisters, Fern Milek, of Ansonia, Conn., and Doreen Breault, of Derry, Conn., and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Lillian R. Bragdon will be held Friday at 11 at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Shaun O'Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Sheffield Center Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4 to 7 at the Birches-Roy Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Lillian may be made to the Southern Berkshire Elderly Transportation Association, in care of the Birches-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren, Marie Dellea, Debra Gochey, Kristian Maxwell, William Mooney III, Donna Lynn Scapin, Rebecca and Michelle Nourse, James and Michael Bragdon, Jim, Jason "Jake", and Jeffrey Snyder, and Rebecca Guartha; seven great-grandchildren, Shawn Dellea, Kyle Gochey, Joshua Maxwell, Emily and Nicholas Scapin, Erik Fredsall and Mikel Nourse; a daughter-in-law, Christine Bragdon; two sons-in-law, William Mooney and Walter Nourse, and her daughter's long time companion, Ken Guartha.
