Mary Ford Broderick

Mary Ford Broderick, 80, of 25 Cliffwood St. died yesterday at the Laurel Lake Center. Born in Pittsfield on May 20, 1925, daughter of William A. and Veronica Fogarty Ford, she was a 1943 graduate of Lee High School. She attended St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsfield. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. Mrs. Broderick worked in the Lee Central School Cafeteria from 1980 until retiring in 1995. Prior to that she worked at the former Lee Steam Laundry and the East Lee Steak House. She was a former member of the Lee Kiwanians. Her husband, Robert E. "Captain" Broderick, whom she married Jan. 31, 1948, died Sept. 24, 2001. She leaves a son, Robert W. Broderick, of Lee; two daughters, Patricia A. DiGrigoli and Deborah A. Tobler, both of Lee; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary Ford Broderick will be held Friday morning at 9:15 from the KELLY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to make donations can make them to St. Mary's School or St. Mary's Church, in care of the Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Sharon, Peter and Terri DiGrigoli, Mark Broderick, Amy Kinzer and Lynn Tobler; her great-grandchildren Matthew Kinzer and Haley Tobler; and close cousin Judy Sullivan Blain. She was predeceased by her brother William "Butch" Ford.
