Edith J. Grant, 97, of Heaton Court, Stockbridge, formerly of Egremont, died yesterday at the Village at Laurel Lake in Lee. She had moved to Heaton Court in 1985. Born in South Egremont on April 26, 1908, daughter of Joseph Booth and Lucy Edna Dubois Baldwin, she was a 1926 graduate of the former Searles High School. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Great Barrington, and the Ladies Aid Society of South Egremont. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Her husband, David B. Grant, whom she married June 17, 1931 at Sheffield Congregational Church Rectory, died April 18, 1972. She leaves a daughter, Barbara Wright of South Egremont, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Edith J. Grant, who died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, will be Friday, Oct. 7, at 1 at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Charles VanAusdall officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy in Edith's memory be made to the American Heart Association, or to the Heaton Court Activities Fund in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She leaves her son-in-law, Fred, and grandchildren, David, John, Mark, Cyndee, Gail and Brandy.
