Helen A. Pikul

Helen A. Pikul, 80, formerly of 75 Commercial St., died early Sunday morning at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown. Born in Holyoke on July 31, 1925, daughter of Walter and Caroline Sigda Fryn, she came to Adams as a child with her parents and attended schools in Adams. Mrs. Pikul was employed by the former ALADCO and the former Sprague Electric Co., both for several years, and retired in 1984. She was also a crossing guard for 10 years. She first worked for the former Berkshire Hathaway Co. for many years. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church. Her first husband, Zigmund Gleba, died Jan. 29, 1952. Her husband, Frank Pikul, whom she married Nov. 10, 1956, died May 6, 1985. She leaves three daughters, Patricia Callander, Gay Frieri and Karen Levesque, all of Adams, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Graveside Service and burial for Helen A. Pikul will take place Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2005 at 10 in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society through TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, which is in charge of arrangements. She was predeceased by a sister, Adele Lapointe.
