Jean Grant Dick

Jean Grant Dick, 88, of South Main Street, died Friday morning at Great Barrington Health Care, where she had resided for a few months. Born in New Rochelle, N.Y., on March 28, 1917, daughter of Grant and Hazel Harvey Terry, she graduated from schools there. She lived in Peekskill, N.Y., and Putnam Valley, N.Y., and moved to Great Barrington in the early 1970s. Mrs. Dick and her husband, Victor Dick, owned the Miniature Stove Antique Shop. She retired in 1994 and the store closed. While in New York, she was a member of the Peekskill Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed collecting antiques, gardening and reading. She also enjoyed cooking, especially gourmet cooking. Her husband, whom she married June 21, 1937, in New Rochelle, died July 2, 1996. She leaves two daughters, Sue Ann Romaine of Stockbridge and Sharon J. Courter of Spring Hill, Fla., three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Graveside Service for Jean Dick will be held at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Susan L. Romaine of Great Barrington, Jeffrey Stoll of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Jo Ella Cole of Rochester, N.H., five great-grandchildren, and two cousins, Ruth Van Ry of Camden, N.Y., and Helen DeLuca of Clearwater, Fla.
