Elizabeth L. Karl

Elizabeth L. Karl, 82, of 45 Church St. died Tuesday at her home. Born in Amsterdam, N.Y., on Oct. 29, 1922, daughter of Charles and Anna Bender Blinzinger, she was educated in Albany, N.Y., schools. She first worked for the Paper Makers' Union in Albany. In the 1950s, Mrs. Karl and her husband, George H. Karl, Sr., opened Karl Insurance and Real Estate in Averill Park, N.Y. They retired in 1976 and moved to Charlotte, N.C., where she was a secretary for the Advent Christian General Conference. They moved to Lee in 1999. She was a member of Hope Advent Christian Church in Lenox. Her husband, whom she married Oct. 28, 1944, died July 11, 2004. She leaves a son, the Rev. George H. Karl, Jr., of Lee; a daughter, Dr. Linda K. Eby of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and nine grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Elizabeth L. Karl will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at 11 a.m., at Hope Advent Christian Church in Lenox, with her son, the Rev. George H. Karl officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 at Sand Lake (N.Y.) Union Cemetery. Visiting hours at KELLY FUNERAL HOME will be Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Berkshire Institute for Christian Studies in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
