JoAnn M. Aloisi

JoAnn M. Aloisi, 67, of 16 Highland Drive died Sunday at home. Born in Great Barrington on Aug. 17, 1938, daughter of Harland B. and Marsella McCormick Foster, she graduated in 1956 from the former Searles High School. She also graduated from Chamberlain School of Retailing in Boston. Mrs. Aloisi was a consultant for the former Carlisle Clothing from 1994 to 2004. Before that, she was employed by New England Telephone Co. and was vice president of S & A Supply Co.. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and a member of the Fairview Hospital Auxiliary and Wyantenuck Country Club, where she served on the house committee and the board of governors. She enjoyed playing golf and tennis, and skiing. She and her husband, Richard J. Aloisi, were married April 18, 1959 at St. Peter's Church. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Richard B. Aloisi and Jeffrey Aloisi, both of Great Barrington; a daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" Andrus of Monterey; three brothers, retired Lt. Col. Maurice H. Foster of Portsmouth, N.H., Robert J. Foster of Alford and William F. Foster of Great Barrington, and six grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for JoAnn M. Aloisi will be Thursday at 10 from BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11at St. Peter's Church celebrated by the Rev. Shaun O'Connor, MIC. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family will receive friends tomorrow, Oct. 26, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in JoAnn's memory may be made to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She also leaves two daughters-in-law, Heather and Robyn Aloisi; a son-in-law, Daniel Andrus, and six grandchildren, Emily, Joseph, Aidan and Ashton Aloisi, and Daniel and Nicole Andrus. She most enjoyed time with her grandchildren.
