Joseph Anthony Rodovick

Joseph Anthony Rodovick, 72, of 30 Grove St. died Sunday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Adams on March 8, 1933, son of Joseph and Adrienne Kuza Rodovick, he was a 1951 graduate of the former Adams High School, where he was a member of the basketball team that won the Western Massachusetts Championship in 1950 and went on to play at Boston Garden. A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he served from 1951 until 1955. Mr. Rodovick was employed by Pfizer Corp. from 1956 until retiring as quarry foreman in 1991. He was a member of Dr. George L. Curran Post 996 Veterans of Foreign Wars, North Adams, and of Waubeeka Golf Club in Williamstown. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing. He and his wife, the former Nancy A. Hilton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 20. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Joseph J. Rodovick of Stamford, Vt.; two daughters, Julie A. Rodovick of Adams and Jean A. Rodovick of Larkspur, Calif.; a brother, Edward A. Rodovick of Adams; a sister, Helen Monette of North Adams, and two grandsons. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private funeral for Joseph Rodovick will be held Thursday, Oct. 27, at 9 at AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Adams Ambulance Service or to the Veterans Outreach, through the funeral home.
