Roman Joseph Fedoryka

Roman Joseph Fedoryka, 53, of East Street, died Tuesday at home after a brief illness. Born in Suffern, N.Y., on Nov. 5, 1951, son of Joseph and Stephanie Tysovich Fedoryka, he graduated from Don Bosco High School in Ramsey, N.J. He also graduated from Montclair State in New Jersey and from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y. Mr. Fedoryka and his wife moved to the area seven years ago and started Eagle Ray Traders, an import/sales business of handmade clothing from Bali, out of their home. Prior to that, he was a professional chef and caterer in the Northeast and Wyoming. He and his wife sponsored Balinese children at the Suta Dharma, a Montessori-based school in Bali. He and his wife, Ann Merz, were married Sept. 19, 1998, in Stony Brook, N.Y. Besides his wife, he leaves a brother, Damien Fedoryka of Ann Arbor, Mich., and a sister, Marta Genara of Chestnut Ridge, N.Y. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service celebrating the life of Roman Fedoryka will be Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at 3 p.m. at FINNERTY AND STEVENS FUNERAL HOME. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roman Fedoryka Memorial Fund through the funeral home, 426 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230. Remembrances, memories and reflections may be sent to the family through www.finnertyandstevens.com. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Roman was ever-generous. A true free spirit, he traveled widely throughout the world. He was known and remembered fondly wherever he went.
