Alvina Rita Mastroianni

Alvina Rita Mastroianni, 91, formerly of 18 Dover St., died yesterday at Williamstown Commons, where she had resided since January 2000. Born in North Adams on June 19, 1914, daughter of William and Alvina Girard Lanoue, she attended the former Notre Dame School. Mrs. Mastroianni was a homemaker. In her younger years, she was employed by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates on State Road in its Greylock Mills division. During World War II, she worked at Sprague Electric Co. to aid the war effort. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of its Rosary Society. She enjoyed decorating wedding cakes. She learned music from her father, a noted string and wind instrumentalist. She and her husband, Leo A. Mastroianni Sr., were married June 12, 1933, at Holy Family Church. He died Dec. 2, 2004. She leaves four sons, Leo A. Mastroianni Jr. of North Adams, William Mastroianni of Melrose, Kenneth Mastroianni of Cheshire and James Mastroianni of Clifton Park, N.Y.; two sisters, Viola Cardinal of California, and Theresa LaForest of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Joseph Lanoue of Pittsfield and Norman Lanoue of Denver; 13 grandchildren, and seven great-greatgrandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Alvina Rita Lanoue Mastroianni will be Wednesday at 9:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will follow in the family plot in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the St. Anthony's Church Capital Campaign Fund through the funeral home, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247. She was predeceased by three brothers, Leo, Arthur and Lawrence Lanoue. She also leaves nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
