Genevieve E. Haun

Genevieve E. Haun, 86, of 55 McArthur Drive died yesterday at North Adams Commons in North Adams. Born in Buckland on Jan. 15, 1919, daughter of Charles and Alma Johnson Halberg, she was a 1937 graduate of the former Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls. Mrs. Haun assisted her husband in the operations of the family business Haun & Son Plumbing & Heating in North Adams. Prior to this, she worked at her brother's Walter Halberg Market in Shelburne. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in North Adams, and enjoyed gardening. Her husband, Harold Haun, whom she married in 1940 in Shelburne Falls, died April 6, 1991. She leaves two daughters, June "Terry" Mattimore of Stamford, Vt., and Susan Deraway of Holly; a son, Timothy Haun of Lake Wales, Fla., 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside Services to celebrate the life of Genevieve E. (Halberg) Haun will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. at the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams, with the Rev. Edward King, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial Donations are suggested for the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME for FUNERAL, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams. She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Carl Haun and a sister, Isabelle Donaldson. She leaves her son-in-law, David, and daughter-in-law, Ann.
