Marion E. Forrest

Marion E. Forrest, 68, of 4 Isbell St., died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Readsboro, Vt., on Sept. 13, 1937, daughter of Charles and Gladys Smith Oakley, she attended schools in North Adams, including the former St. Joseph Parochial School. Mrs. Forrest was last employed at the Green Mountain Outfits Co. Earlier, she had worked at the former Cornish Wire Co. in Pownal, Vt., and at General Cable Co. in Williamstown. She was fan of Elvis and was very generous supporter of several local organizations. Her husband, Maitland Richardson, died Jan. 19, 2000. She leaves five daughters, Diane Kennedy, Kathleen Lear and Esther Nichlen, all of North Adams, Tina Burdick of Adams and Patricia Yartz of Mercedes, Texas; two sons, Stephen Richardson Sr. of Adams and Edward Richardson of Stephentown, N.Y.; and 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Gerald Richardson and Maitland Richardson Jr. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Marion E. Forrest will take place today, Thursday, at 6 p.m. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME for FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will take place at a later date in Oakhill Cemetery, Pownal, Vt. Calling hours will be today, Thursday, from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested for the Friends of the Renal Dialysis Unit at Berkshire Medical Center through the funeral home. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Beatrice Weaver. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
