Yvonne R. McCarthy

Yvonne R. McCarthy, 82, of 5 Hayer St. died Thursday at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown. She was a former resident of 202 Water St., Williamstown. Born in Winooski, Vt., on Nov. 9, 1923, daughter of Maurice and Mary Masson Laramee, she attended schools there. She moved to North Adams in the early 1940s. Mrs. McCarthy was employed by General Cable Corp. in Williamstown for many years, retiring in 1988. After that, she worked as a housekeeper at LeJardin and for the family of retired Col. Fred Ley, both in Williamstown. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church in North Adams. She and her husband, Gerald T. McCarthy, were married in 1945. He died Feb. 21, 1990. She leaves a son, Richard McCarthy of Adams, with whom she made her home; two daughters, Patricia Krutiak of Adams and Gail O'Hearn of Mulberry, Fla.; two sisters, Theresa Lagasse of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Dorothy Laramee of Phoenix; two brothers, Rene Laramee of California and Leo Laramee of Port St. Lucie; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Another son, Michael Joseph McCarthy, died July 21, 1994. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Yvonne McCarthy, who died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005, will be conducted Monday at 10 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, by Deacon Robert Moulton. Burial will follow in the family lot in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Yvonne would like you to give a hug to someone you care for or to make a donation to VNA-Hospice of Northern Berkshire or HospiceCare in the Berkshires, both in care of the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. Yvonne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Timothy T. McCarthy, Thomas J. McCarthy, Jason Choquette, Stephen McCarthy, Marc Maynard, Seamus O'Hearn and Brendon O'Hearn, and four great-grandchildren, Sarah Marie McCarthy, Jerald McCarthy, Salem Choquette and Colby Choquette.
