Richard Harold Tovani

Richard Harold Tovani, 62, of 9 Palmer Drive died Monday at his home. Born in North Adams on Dec. 29, 1942, son of Walter A. and Loretta Dupre Tovani, he attended local schools. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Tovani last worked as a machinist for the former Flomatic Valve Co. in Hoosick, N.Y. He was a member of American Legion Post 90 in Pownal, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Bennington, Vt. He enjoyed restoring vintage cars. Besides his companion of 24 years, June Jacobson, he leaves a son, Richard H. Tovani Jr. of Savoy; three daughters, Bridget Brockway of Windsor, Nancy Roberts of Virginia Beach, Va., and Bernadine Loftin of Mechanicsville, Va.; a brother, Carl Tovani of the town of Florida; a sister, Beverly Alcombright of North Adams; his former wife, the former Joyce M. Parkhurst of Dalton, and ten grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Richard H. Tovani, who died Monday, Nov. 21, 2005, will be conducted Friday at 10 at AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours will be Friday from 9 a.m. until the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Pownal Rescue Squad, through the funeral home, 46 North Church St., North Adams, MA 01247.
