Rina DiOrio

Rina DiOrio, 97, formerly of 27 Joan Drive, died Monday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had resided since June 17. Born in San Gimignano, Italy, on June 23, 1908, daughter of Victor and Ida Mannucci Curini, she attended Pittsfield schools. Mrs. DiOrio was a self-employed seamstress for more than 80 years, designing and sewing custom-made dresses and other clothing. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and enjoyed reading. She and her husband, John J. DiOrio, were married June 30, 1928, in Pittsfield. He died June 16, 1986. She leaves two sons, Robert L. DiOrio and Richard J. DiOrio, both of Pittsfield; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Rina Curini DiOrio, who died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 17, at 11 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church by Canon Hannah Anderson, rector. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
