Emery E. "Skip" Shephard Jr.

Emery E. "Skip" Shephard Jr., 63, of 150 Ashland St., Ashland Park Apartments, died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital after a long illness. Born in Adams on Aug. 7, 1942, son of Emery E. Shephard Sr. and Phyllis Rougeau Shephard, he attended schools there and in North Adams, including Drury High School. Mr. Shephard was employed by the former Arnold Print Works in Adams and by the city of North Adams as a custodian at City Hall before moving to Las Vegas, where he lived for several years. He was last employed by Very Fine Products Co. in Littleton. He returned to North Adams in 2004. He was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 310, a member of Frank R. Stiles Post 125 American Legion and a former member of the North Adams Auxiliary Police Department. He enjoyed playing pool and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. His wife, the former Ida Bachand, died in July 2003. He leaves two sisters, Frances Lehman of Fitchburg and Phyllis Hall of Port Orange, Fla.; three brothers, James F. Shephard of North Adams, William G. Shephard of Adams and Edward P. Shephard of Pierson, Fla. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Emery E. "Skip" Shephard Jr., who died Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005, will be Friday at 1 at Southview Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made through FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
