Catherine A. Cooney, 94, formerly of 12 Maple St., died Sunday evening at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided for four years. Born in Lenox on Oct. 19, 1911, daughter of John J. and Roseann McGurk Cooney, she attended was a 1928 graduate of Lenox High School and a graduate of the former Berkshire Business College in Pittsfield. Miss Cooney was employed by the former England Brothers department store, Cooper Coal Service Co. and R.H. Kelly Insurance, all in Pittsfield. She retired in 1973. She was a communicant of St. Ann's Church. She leaves a niece, Louise Cooney Bain, of Boca Raton, Fla. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Miss Catherine A. Cooney will be Friday morning at 10 at St. Ann's Church in Lenox, with the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor, celebrating the Liturgy of Christian Burial. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Miss Cooney's memory may be made to Guardian Hospice of Springside of Pittsfield in care of ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240. Miss Cooney is survived by a niece, Louise Cooney Bain, of Boca Raton, Fla.
