Grace Willbrant

Grace Willbrant, 97, formerly of Melbourne Place and 23 Egremont Ave., died Thursday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for 12 days. Born in Preston, England, on April 20, 1908, daughter of Walter and Grace Prescott, she attended schools in England and immigrated to the United States when she was 19. During World War II, she knitted for the American Red Cross. Mrs. Willbrant was a homemaker and a faithful blood donor. She was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church. An accomplished rug hooker, she had several works displayed at the Berkshire Museum. Her husband, Willis H. Willbrant, whom she married Oct. 27, 1934, died Aug. 13, 1993. She leaves two sons Robert J. Willbrant of West Union, S.C., and Bruce G. Willbrant of Payne, Pa.; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Grace Willbrant will be conducted Saturday at 11 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Peter Boehringer, pastor of Zion's Evangelical Church. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 the day of the funeral. She leaves her daughters-in-law, Sandy and Barbara Willbrant. Donations in her memory may be made to Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
