Casmir Konarski

Casmir Konarski, 80, of 155 Marble St. died Monday at the Baystate Medical Center after a long illness. A resident of Washington for 40 years, he had resided in Lee for the past 7 years. Born Sept. 16, 1925, in Chicopee, son of John and Anna Konarski, he was educated in Chicopee area schools. A veteran of World War II, he worked in the mechanical drawing and machine design department of the Clark Aiken Co. in Lee for about 20 years. He also had worked at Hamilton Standard as a product draftsman. Mr. Konarski was a former member of the Rangers Athletic Club in Chicopee and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed cutting grass and Hosta gardening. He leaves two brothers, Mitzi Konarski of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Thaddeusz Konarski of Chicopee. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial mass for Casmir Konarski, who died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, will be held on Friday at 11 at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Agawam. There are no visiting hours. THE GRISE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Casmir's memory to the charity of one's choice. He also leaves a nephew, Mark Konarski of Saybrook, Conn.; two nieces, Cathy McClery of Westfield and Carol Konarski of Santa Anna, Calif.; sisters-in-law Jennifer Konarski and Helen Konarski; nephew-in-law Bill McClery, and niece-in-law Donna Konarski. He is predeceased by his nephew, Mike Konarski, who died in Dec. 2002.
