Lorraine Frances Galli

Lorraine Frances Galli, 71, of 23 Royal Ave. died Saturday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in North Adams on March 7, 1934, daughter of Joseph and Mary Louise Benoit Durocher, she was a 1932 graduate of Drury High School and attended Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield. Mrs. Galli was employed by General Electric Co. in Pittsfield and Waterford, N.Y., for 20 years, retiring in May 1999. During the 1950s, she worked at Sprague Electric Co. She also worked as a waitress for 40 years. Her last job was as a hostess at the Williams College Faculty Club. She was a communicant St. Anthony's Church, a Red Sox fan and enjoyed traveling. She and her husband, George Galli Sr., celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary Oct. 3. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Debra Bishop of North Adams; three sons, George Galli Jr. of Williamstown, Michael Galli of Valdosta, Ga., and Steven Galli of North Adams, and 10 grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lorraine Frances (Durocher) Galli, who died Jan. 21, 2006, will be Wednesday at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Anthony's Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for St. Anthony's Church or the charity of the donor's choice through the funeral home. Survivors include three daughters-in-law, Susan, Stefanie and Kathyrn Galli; 10 grandchildren, Katie, Chris and Jason Bishop, and Jodi, Lindsay, Mitchell, Nicole, Gabrielle, Michael and Devan Galli, and a sister-in-law, Joan Durocher. She was predeceased by a brother, Vernon Durocher, and a sister, Phyllis Maruco. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
