Delphine Martha Jenks

Delphine Martha Jenks, 84, of 3 Myrtle St. died early yesterday morning at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in West Stockbridge on Oct. 18, 1921, daughter of Andrew and Maria Balardini Bormolini, she attended schools in West Stockbridge and Cheshire and graduated from the former Adams High School in 1940. Mrs. Jenks was employed by Adams Laundry and Dry Cleaning Co. for 10 years, retiring 30 years ago. Earlier, she had worked at the former Brightwater Paper Co. and the former H.W. Clark Biscuit Co. in North Adams. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and enjoyed cooking and sewing. Her husband, Calvin G. Jenks, whom she married April 11, 1942, died Oct. 28, 1999. She leaves a son, Michael Jenks of Adams; a daughter, Debra Clossey of Adams; a sister, Polly Hancock of Tucson, Ariz., and three grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Delphine Jenks, who died Jan. 23, 2006, will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 26, at 10 at AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS Funeral Home by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Thursday from 9 until the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Adams Ambulance Service or to the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire, through the funeral home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams MA 01220. Mrs. Jenks also leaves a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Jenks of Adams; a son-in-law, John Clossey of Adams; three grandchildren, Erin Clossey of Newton, and Adam and Lauren Jenks, both of Adams, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Serino, Henry, John, Andrew and Artso "Pat" Bormolini, and three sisters, Mary Salvato, Rose Astorino and Rita Bormolini.
