Rita McLear

Rita McLear, 78, of 49 Meadow St. died Tuesday evening at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on Nov. 4, 1927, daughter of the late Josephat and Katherine Scott Daigneault, she attended Adams schools. Mrs. McLear worked at Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for more than 40 years until retiring in 1989. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame and St. Thomas Aquinas. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and shopping. Her husband, James W. McLear, whom she married on June 19, 1948, died on Nov. 20, 1985. She leaves two daughters, Jo-Ann Irace of Stamford, Vt., and Susan Senecal of North Adams; two brothers, Joseph and Norman Daigneault, both of Adams; a sister, Doris Lussier of Clarksburg; four grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen Carpinello, who died on Sept. 21, 2003. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Rita McClear, who died Jan. 24, 2006, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 9 a.m. from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas' Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, Pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are on Friday at the funeral home.
