Frank P. Consolati

Frank P. Consolati, 96, of 325 Fairview St. died yesterday at his home. Born in Canaan, Conn., on Jan. 14, 1910, son of Revino and Mary Brighenti Consolati, he was educated in Lee schools, graduating from Lee High School in 1927 and later from Bay Path Junior College in 1930. After college he went to work for the Lee National Bank as a clerk and in 1967 was named its president. Mr. Consolati was the owner of the Frank P. Consolati Insurance Agency and of Consolati Farm, which raised race horses and dairy and beef cattle. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. He had played semi-pro football and was a member of the Lee Sons of Italy baseball team, which in 1949 played in the national finals in Kansas. He was a former Boy Scout leader and had served on the School Committee and the Finance Committee in Lee for a number of years. He was a former member of the Tri-Town Rotary Club, where he received the Paul Harris Award, and he was a charter member and past president of the G. Marconi Lodge 1620 Sons of Italy. His wife, the former Mary D. Salinetti, whom he married Oct. 12, 1937, died Nov. 21, 1999. He leaves three sons, Frank A. and Thomas A. Consolati of Lee and James J. Consolati of Tyringham; a daughter, Judith Brittain of Lee; a brother, John J. Consolati of Lee; 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Frank P. Consolati, who died Jan. 29, 2006, will be held Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the KELLY FUNERAL HOME followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Members of the Sons of Italy will meet Monday evening at 6 p.m. at the funeral home for their service. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make memorial contributions to the Lee Visiting Nurses Association or HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. He leaves his grandchildren, Daniel, David, Jeffrey, Patrick, Thomas, Mary, Paul, Michael Christopher, Jennifer, Laura, Benjamin, Austin, Darren and Evan; a brother-in-law Al Moser, and two sisters-in-law Rita Moser and Florence Consolati. He was predeceased by three brothers, Aldo, Peter and Leon Consolati, and a sister, Lena Brighenti. He was proud to be considered one of the best wine and salami makers in Lee.
