Rosie L. Anthony

Rosie L. Anthony, 94, of 219 Church St. died yesterday at Williamstown Commons in Williamstown, where she had resided since July 2004. Born in Adams on July 4, 1911, daughter of Walter and Nancy Beauchamps Anthony, she attended the former Liberty Street School and the former C.T. Plunkett Jr. High School, and was a 1929 graduate of the former Adams High School. She also graduate from the former St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in 1931. Miss Anthony was a registered nurse at the former Pittsfield General Hospital and the former Plunkett Memorial Hospital in Adams, where she was head nurse. She retired after many years of service. She was a member of the Catholic Parishes of Adams and a communicant of Notre Dame Church. She leaves three nephews, Walter Gamache of Soldotna Alaska; Clarence Gamache of Anchorage, Alaska, and Norman Gamache of North Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for the life of Rosie L. Anthony, who died Friday, Jan 27, 2006, will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 at Notre Dame Church in Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Salvation Army, 393 River St., North Adams, MA 01247 or to the charity of the donor's choice. She also leaves her caretaker and cousin-in-law, Germaine Gamache of North Adams. MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
