Catherine M. Sullivan

Catherine M. Sullivan, 85, died Sunday evening, Jan. 29, at Fairview Commons, where she had been a resident for the past few years. Born on June 23, 1920, in Pittsfield, she was the daughter of Edward W. and Sara O'Donnell Sullivan. She graduated from the former Williams High School in Stockbridge and later attended the former Berkshire Business College in Pittsfield. Ms. Sullivan worked at Northeast Utilities Co. from 1941 to 1983 as the head of bookkeeping for many years. She then worked in the mail-order department of Country Curtains until retiring in 1998. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, and was very active for many years in the Stockbridge Grange. She loved songwriting, knitting, playing Bingo and horse racing. She leaves her cousin, Edna Piretti of Lenox. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Catherine M. Sullivan, who died Jan. 29, 2006, will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Stockbridge with Father Daniel Papineau, MIC, as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Bridget's Cemetery in Housatonic. There will be no calling hours. She is survived by her cousin, Edna Piretti of Lenox; her godson, Joseph Suarez, and his wife, Diana, and their children, David, Adrienne and Steven. She also is survived by many other cousins.
