Dorothy Roche, 84, of 101 Brooklyn St. died Sunday at the Sweetbrook Health Care Center in Williamstown. Born in North Adams on May 8, 1921, daughter of Alfred and Mary Timothy Foote, she attended schools in North Adams, including Drury High School. She was employed at the Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams. She was last employed by the City of North Adams School System, where she worked in the cafeteria at the Brayton Elementary School. She obtained her real estate license and assisted her late husband in the operations of the former Frank S. Roche Real Estate Agency. Mrs. Roche was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 487 Emblem Club in North Adams, where she served as past president and held several other offices in the club. She also served the club at the state level as an officer. Her husband, Frank Stafford Roche, whom she married Feb. 22, 1941, died June 14, 1993. She leaves two daughters, Willie Gajda of Adams and Dianne Bragdon of Lynn Haven, Fla.; a brother, Robert Foote of Pinbush, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Frank S. Roche Jr., former member of the Greenfield Police Department, who died May 2, 1998. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Dorothy Roche, who died Feb. 5, 2006, will take place Thursday at 10:15 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Francis' Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Sweetbrook Activities Council through the funeral home, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA 01247. She leaves two sons-in law, Dennis Gajda and Kenneth Bragdon; eight grandchildren, Sean and Dana Bragdon, Kenna Hendon, Katie Roche, Frank III and Colby Roche, Crista Gajda, and Mary Margaret Sufat; five great-grandchildren, Zachary and Ashbey Bragdon, Sarah Jane and Kenneth Jacob Hendon, and Connor Gajda Cirullo. She was predeceased by a son, Frank S. Roche Jr., who died May 2, 1998.
