Gary P. "Goober" Roosa

Gary P. "Goober" Roosa, 52, of 101 Center St. died Tuesday afternoon in Pittsfield. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 7, 1953, son of Margaret "Peg" Holian Roosa and the late Gordon "Giggles" Roosa, he was a 1973 graduate of Lee High School. He was last employed at the O'Connell Convenience Store in Lee until 2005. Previously, he had worked for the Kimberly Clark Corporation in Lee and then for the Massachusetts Turnpike Authority as a toll collector. He enjoyed horse racing and watching the New York Yankees. Besides his mother, with whom he made his home, he leaves three brothers, Andrew Goodfellow of Lee and Gordon and Kevin D. Roosa, both of Lee, and a sister, Margaret M. MacDowell of Lee. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Gary P. "Goober" Roosa, who died Feb. 7, 2006, will be held Friday, Feb. 10, at 9:15 a.m. from KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Daniel Papineau, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to make donations to Lee Volunteer Ambulance Association in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. He was predeceased by his sister, Diane L. Adams, in 1993.
