Lawrence G. "Pete" Vieau

Lawrence G. "Pete" Vieau, 61, of Chicopee died Sunday at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Agawam from heart and kidney disease. His sister, Nancy Devane, lives in Becket. Born in Tupper Lake, N.Y. on Jan. 23, 1945, son of the late Lawrence E. and Annabelle LaFlamme Vieau, he was raised in Holyoke. He had been a resident of Chicopee for 35 years. Mr. Vieau was a receiving clerk at Hampden Paper Co. in Holyoke. Before that, he worked at Plymouth Paper Mills. He and his wife, the former Joanne Rosinski, were married 38 years. Besides his wife and sister, he leaves two daughters, Deborah Levreault of Wolcott, N.Y., and Lynn Vieau of Chicopee; a son, Chicopee Alderman John L. Vieau; a brother, William G. "Kookie" Vieau of Westfield, and seven grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Lawrence G. "Pete" Vieau, who died Feb. 19, 2006, will be Thursday at 10 at CORRIDAN FUNERAL HOME, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 and Thursday from 9 until the start of the service. A beloved husband and father, he also leaves seven grandchildren, Andrew, Kyle, Alyssa, Samantha, Jenna, Maxime and John Henry, all of whom he loved very much, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 11 Vanderbilt Ave., Suite 105, Norwood, MA 02062 or to the Chicopee Boys' and Girls' Club, 580 Meadow St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
