Ursula K. Krueger Godyn

Ursula K. Krueger Godyn, 84, of 44 Arnold Place, died Sunday evening at North Adams Commons, where she was admitted on Feb. 6. Born in Elmshorn, Germany, on Oct. 26, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Kurt and Mathilde Reimers Krueger. She was educated in Germany, and in her younger years, operated a preschool there. She came to the United States in 1951 with her late husband, Stefhan and daughter, Sylvia. She was last employed for many years at Sprague Electric Co., retiring in 1991. Her husband, Stefhan J. Godyn, whom she married in 1945 in Germany, died Jan. 21, 1983. She leaves a daughter, Sylvia Gentile of North Adams, and a grandson. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Ursula Krueger Godyn will take place Friday, March 17, 2006, at 11 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations are suggested for the North Adams Downtown Adult Day Care Center through the funeral home. Survivors include a grandson, William Sweet, and his financée, Valerie Gintis, and a son-in-law, Joseph Gentile. She was predeceased by a brother, Gunther Krueger. She loved life and spending time with her grandson.
