Jessica "Jay" Miner Burnett Pike

Jessica "Jay" Miner Burnett Pike, 93, formerly of 48 Windom Terrace, died Sunday morning at the Belle Reve Nursing Home in Milford, Pa., where she had resided for the last few years. Born in Savoy on Dec. 1, 1912, daughter of Daniel E. and Linda J. Miner Burnett, she attended Adams schools, including the former Renfrew School and C.T. Plunkett Junior High School, and graduated from the former Adams High School with the class of 1930. Mrs. Pike worked for many years as an electronic technician for Sprague Electric Company. She retired in 1971. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as assistant treasurer for any years. She was also a member of the Sprague Electric Company Quarter Century Club and a member of the Fort Massachusetts Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution since 1935, where she served as treasurer and registrar for many years. In 1967, she became a genealogist, tracking her family's ancestry. She enjoyed designing and making her own clothes, needlework, knitting and crocheting and traveling extensively throughout the United States and Canada with her husband. Her husband Harry B. Pike, whom she married on Oct. 27, 1934, in the First Baptist Church in North Adams, died on Sept. 21, 1993. She leaves several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Jessica "Jay" Miner Burnett Pike, who died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, will be held on Saturday, March 4, at 1 p.m. from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 46 North Church St., with the Rev. Joseph DeCosta, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County or the First Baptist Church through the funeral home. Mrs. Pike is survived by a nephew, William L. Bringan of Deridder, La.; two nieces, Joyce Burnett Harris of Warner Robins, Ga., and Dr. Joan Burnett Obe of Suffex, N.J.; six grandnieces, Elaine Lecours of Parsons, W.V., Julie Kershaw of Orlando, Fla., Linda Bringan of Laurel, Md., Shirley Corda of Deridder, La., Victoria Obe of Hoboken, N.J., and Regina Obe of Boston, and a grandnephew, Peter Obe of Pomona, N.Y. She was predeceased by five brothers, Lionel Burnett, Ronald Burnett, Linwood Burnett, Gardner Burnett, and Daniel Burnett Jr.; a sister, Evelyn Bringan, and a niece, Claire Burnett Johnson.
