Janet M. Krzynowek

Janet M. Krzynowek, 75, formerly of 899 Main St., died yesterday at Fairview Commons Nursing Home. Born in Great Barrington on Sept. 10, 1930, daughter of Roy and Elizabeth Waite Patterson, she was a 1947 graduate of the former Searles High School. Mrs. Krzynowek was first employed by Pioneer Credit Corp. From 1985 to 1992, she delivered Meals-on-Wheels. From 1995 to 2004, she worked for the Green Thumb program at the Great Barrington Senior Center and at Fairview Commons Nursing Home. She was a New York Yankees and Boston Celtics fan. Her first husband, Harry E. Koldys, died in 1968. Her husband, Stanley B. Krzynowek, died in 2001. She leaves three sons, Terry E. Koldys of Sarasota, Fla., Randall L. Koldys of Great Barrington and Michael E. Koldys of Sheffield; a stepson, Richard Krzynowek of South Egremont, and five grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Janet M. Krzynowek, who died March 4, 2006, will be conducted Tuesday, March 7, at 11 at First Congregational Church by Pastor Charles VanAusdall. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family will receive friends at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME tomorrow, March 6, from 4 to 7. Expressions of sympathy in Janet's memory may be made to Southern Berkshire Elderly Transportation Co. in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230-1815. While at the senior center and Fairview Commons, she was a companion and buddy to many people with her trademark pink high-top Converse sneakers. Mrs. Krzynowek leaves five grandchildren, Brian, Lauren, Kelsey and Courtney Koldys, and Kimberly Krzynowek Warner. She also was predeceased by a grandson, Chad Krzynowek, on Oct. 25, 1997. She enjoyed cooking, being with her grandchildren and helping neighbors with chores.
