Rose D. Zieminski Stefanik

Rose D. Zieminski Stefanik, 88, of Clinton Crest and Dundee, N.Y., formerly of Adams, died Tuesday at the Homestead Nursing Home in Penn Yan, N.Y. Born in Adams on April 22, 1917, daughter of Jakob and Katarzyna Szawicka Zieminski, she attended Adams schools. She worked for the former Berkshire Hathway Company for several years early in her life, and together with her husband, operated the former Greylock Potato Chip Company until the early 1950s. They also produced Rosalie's Carmel Corn at this time. Mrs. Stefanik was briefly employed by Sprague Electric Company in North Adams later on in her life. She moved to Dundee, N.Y., with her son and daughter-in-law in 1984. While in Adams, she was a communicant of St. Stainslaus' Church. Her husband, Michael Stefanik, whom she married in 1938, died in 1968. Mrs. Stefanik leaves a son, Stanley Stefanik; a sister, Celia Wroblewski of Adams; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, Andrew Stefanik. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Rose D. Zieminski Stefanik, who died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, will take place Saturday, March 11, at 9 a.m. from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus' Church in Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery in Adams. Mrs. Stefanik leaves a daughter-in-law, Elaine; five grandchildren, Todd Stefanik and his wife Emily Van Ark of Somerville, Rick Stefanik and his wife Cassondra of Pinehurst, N.C., Robb Stefanik and his wife Heather of High Point, N.C., Aaron Stefanik and his wife Ann of Cheshire, and Jesse Stefanik and his wife Sara of Adams; one great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, Andrew Stefanik; one sister, Helen Milisiewski; and five brothers, John, Matthew, William, Joseph, and Michael Zieminski.
